Journey of Arpita Hembram with India Tribal Care Trust - An Empowering Dream | https://www.indiatribalcare.org/

Meet Arpita Hembram, a bright and determined young girl from the Santal tribe in Purulia, whose inspiring journey exemplifies the power of education and support in transforming lives. With her strong dedication and the guidance of ISKCON’s India Tribal Care Trust (ITCT), Arpita has broken barriers and pursued her dream of becoming a doctor. She is currently studying MBBS at Midnapore Medical College, a remarkable achievement for someone from a rural tribal background.

Arpita’s pursuit of an MBBS degree at Midnapore Medical College is a direct reflection of ITCT’s transformative efforts. Their support provided Arpita with the tools and encouragement needed to rise above her rural, tribal background and break through barriers that once seemed insurmountable. Her achievement is not merely personal success but a shining example of how ITCT’s work empowers tribal youth to reach their full potential.

Born and raised in Domohani village, Mukutmanipur, Arpita hails from a modest family. Her father, employed in the mechanical department of the Indian Railways, and her mother, a homemaker, have always been her pillars of strength. Despite limited resources, Arpita’s commitment to education remained unwavering. She is the eldest of four siblings—her sister has completed nursing training, and her younger siblings are still in school.

Her connection with ISKCON and ITCT began during the COVID-19 lockdown, a period that turned into a pivotal chapter of her life. It was during this time that Arpita’s family encountered ISKCON devotees, leading her to a profound spiritual and educational journey. Embracing Bhakti and learning invaluable life lessons from a tribal preacher, Arpita found both inspiration and direction. This spiritual grounding not only bolstered her educational aspirations but also ignited a deep-seated desire to give back to her community.

The India Tribal Care Trust has played an instrumental role in shaping Arpita’s path. Founded in 2016, ITCT is dedicated to uplifting tribal communities across India through a blend of education, healthcare, and spiritual support. Their comprehensive approach includes mobile medical units and educational programs, creating opportunities for often-neglected tribal populations in West Bengal, Assam, and Jharkhand. By integrating spiritual values with practical education and healthcare, ITCT’s initiatives have a lasting, transformative impact.

With her eyes set on addressing the healthcare needs of her tribe, Arpita is committed to ensuring that others in her community benefit from the same opportunities she received. Her journey underscores the profound influence of ITCT in unlocking the potential of tribal youth, guiding them toward brighter futures filled with purpose and a deep-rooted desire to give back.
